1. Our minister of defence is called Atis Slakteris. (His surname Slakteris in Latvian means ''Mass murderor'') Scary eh? :D

2. Our ex-prime minister is called Ivars Godmanis. (If you split and switch his name it becomes God man is Ivars)

3. We are SO luxurious, that everything in our country cost at least twice as much as in yours!

4. I am the only Latvian player on VU, which means MOST Latvians have a Real Life...

5. Our National football team is 45th best in the world (LOL), last year it was 110th!

6.  We have had a female president for 8 years! o.0

7. Only 59.2% of peoples living in Latvia are Latvians! (I'm Latvian)

8. As of 2008 we have the first ever Olympic champion of BMX cycling.

Theese are my reasons, why Latvia is the most awesome and best country in the world, beat that! xD

I see you have some pictures near my old school, nice :D

  I have seen Riga and thought that it was a nice city.  The conditions I saw it under were not pretty ,exciting but not pretty. I arrived there the day of the coupe against Gorbachev ,1991 I believe,[ I know ,that makes me old ] and was there long enough to see Latvia gain her independence. At first it was close to being a warzone but then it was a time of high excitement.
